What should agencies look for in an AI visibility tool?

Look for four things agencies specifically need and most tools in this category do not provide: multi-client workspaces that do not price you per domain, client-facing reporting under your own brand rather than a vendor-branded dashboard, a measurement method the vendor will actually explain, and coverage of every assistant your clients care about including Claude and Google AI Mode.

Per-client cost is the most common complaint agencies raise. A platform priced per domain becomes untenable across a roster, and several tools cap workspaces or gate agency features behind an application.

Client-facing branding matters more than it first appears. Sending clients into a vendor-branded dashboard creates a disintermediation risk — the client can see who actually provides the service — which is why most agencies route reporting through Looker Studio workarounds.

Ask how the visibility number is produced. If a tool reports an "AI rank" without a run count, it is reporting a single sample of a system that answers differently each time.
